About This Piece
A substantial 19th-century English brass figural inkwell in the form of two horse hooves with shoes. Quite large in size and finely detailed — one hoof opens to reveal a removable copper inkwell, the other opens for storage of stamps, clips, or other small items. A center post with a ring top adjoins the two. An excellent and characterful piece for a writing desk or library.
