About This Piece

A set of six American sterling silver oyster or cocktail forks with gilt wash, by Towle Manufacturing, Newburyport, MA (founded 1882). The pattern features raised beadwork on both sides with a Rococo-style flourish at the end of the handles, and ornate bowls and tines adding a bit of flair. A light monogram — appearing to be an "H" — is engraved on the handles. A matching set of six in the same pattern without the gilt wash is also available for a full set of twelve.
