About This Piece
An antique English mahogany cutlery or flatware storage box with two hand-painted floral scenes, c. 1910. The dark mahogany box has two sides that lift for storage, with a brass handle. One side is painted with a gathering of flowers; the other bears perfectly balanced acanthus scrolls framing an acanthus leaf urn, accented with similar flowers. The muted colours are warm and restful. Perfect for cutlery or a host of other items waiting to be beautifully organised.

Condition
Very good. Some wear to corner edges and in areas of the hand-painting. One scene has three small scratches, shown in the photographs. Some corner wear. Felt lining has considerable wear. All consistent with the age and use of this lovely box.
