About This Piece
An antique French flatware set beautifully decorated with crossed ribbons, small bows, and bell-flowers. Service for twelve with five-piece place settings, this is a rare and substantial collection of French .950 sterling silver in exceptional original condition. A storage chest is included.
Of interesting note: a monogram for "W" graces almost every piece of the set. Eight of the coffee spoons are monogrammed "CV" while four bear the initials "SB". One dessert spoon does not have a monogram.
Hallmarks & Provenance
Marked for French .950 sterling silver guarantee and bearing the maker's mark of Lappara & Gabriel (LG), active 1902–1923, at 157 rue du Temple, Paris. The mark used was for French export/import.
