French sterling silver, .950. Marked with the Minerva 1st Titre mark and the maker’s punch for Philippe Berthier, Paris — a woodcock surrounded by the letters P and B. Berthier entered his first mark on 1 June 1841 and was a well-known silversmith of the Second Empire.
