About This Piece

A fine antique early Victorian needlepoint tapestry with delicate petit point details. The tapestry features a fair-haired angel holding a harp, worked in wool and silk thread with glass beads — the harp detailed with gilt-colored beads. Details on the angel's face include brilliant blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and rose-colored lips. An exquisite and deeply personal piece of needlework.

The needlework is currently framed in an octagonal gilt frame that is not original to the tapestry.
