About This Piece
A sterling silver and gilt medal or watch fob for the Hunters Improvement & National Light Horse Breeding Society, Birmingham 1938, by Mappin & Webb. Excellent workmanship throughout — one side features an unsaddled horse, the other a gentleman and jockey with a saddled horse. Unusual among Mappin & Webb medals for its gilt wash. A collector’s item that would also make an attractive accessory worn on a black silk cord.
