About This Piece
A refined French silver plate caviar server comprised of five interlocking pieces, including the pedestal bowl, fitted lid, removable glass insert, holding ring, and matching undertray. Together, the elements create a beautifully designed and highly functional presentation piece for serving chilled caviar.
The server is detailed with a classical raised motif encircling the tray, lid, and pedestal base, lending the set an understated grandeur typical of fine French table service. The glass liner nests securely within the silver plate mount, allowing the bowl to be chilled while maintaining an elegant presentation at table.
The set was acquired while on my recent trip to Paris. Both decorative and practical, this is a sophisticated serving piece equally at home in a formal dining setting, on a bar, or as part of a collection of antique French entertaining ware.
