About This Piece
An antique French sterling silver egg cup with a gently flared rim and classic pedestal base, enhanced by Guilloché work. The oval cartouche on the front is blank and ready for monogramming. A perfectly elegant way to enjoy one’s breakfast egg.
Hallmarks & Provenance
French sterling silver, .950. Marked with the Minerva 1st standard mark (in use after 1838) and the maker’s mark for Philippe Berthier (PB) — his second mark, featuring a woodcock, registered 5 June 1847 and re-stamped 20 June 1851.
