About This Piece
A Victorian era child’s napkin ring, fully hallmarked for English sterling silver. Napkin rings, cups, rattles, and spoons were cherished christening gifts for children in the 19th century — a thoughtful tradition well worth continuing today. Antique sterling silver gifts become family heirlooms, passed down through generations.
The bright-cut engraving is still very crisp and the hallmarks are clear. Monogrammed with the initials "RKS", with K as the middle initial.
Hallmarks & Provenance
English sterling silver. Marked with the Lion Passant for sterling, Leopard’s Face for the London assay office, maker’s mark for Walter & John Barnard, date letter "G" for 1882, and Monarch’s mark for Queen Victoria.
