Vintage French Silver Plate Tray - Crossed Ribbon Design

A vintage French silver plate rectangular tray with handles.  The tray features Acanthus leaf details along with crossed ribbons motifs.  Perfect for serving drinks, holding the mail, organizing a dressing table or bathroom counter.

French silver plate, C  1920 --  The tray has an intriguing combination of marks including a punch for “metal blanc” or silverplate along with a  “cat’s head mark” on the reverse side.  On the front side it is marked “metal blanc” and inscribed for A. Blanchet, which was a French maker and possibility did work for Galia.   The cat’s head mark was used by Galia (Christofle's silver-plated line) and indicated specific foreign branches or collaborations between 1920’s and the 1930’s.
