About This Piece
A fine French sterling silver cup and saucer featuring scrolling foliage and griffins set between two decorative bands, with meticulous raised work on a textured ground. The cup has a large oval cartouche left unengraved — available for personalisation — and a C-scroll handle with matching ornamentation. A magnificent piece of French silversmithing at 243 grams or 7.8 troy ounces.

French sterling silver, .950, c. 1900. Both pieces marked with the Minerva 1st Titre mark and maker’s punch for Eugène Roussel Dourtre, who registered his mark on 3 March 1849.
