A fine William IV era English sterling silver pen tray and cut-glass inkwell by Henry Wilkinson & Co, Sheffield. The rectangular tray features floral and leaf motifs around the edges; the interior of the inkwell is richly decorated with floral and scroll motifs, with a scrolling cast and applied finger handle. A distinguished desk piece of considerable weight and presence.

Hallmarks & Provenance

English sterling silver, Sheffield, 1836. Marked with the Lion Passant for sterling, Sheffield assay mark, date letter "q" for 1836, the Monarch’s mark, and maker’s mark for Henry Wilkinson & Co (mark entered 1831).
