French Sterling Silver Egg Cup, 19th C, Guilloché Work
An antique French sterling silver egg cup. The cup features a gently flared rim and a classic pedestal base, enhanced by Guilloché work. The oval cartouche on the front is blank.
A perfectly elegant way to enjoy one’s breakfast egg.
French, hallmarked with the French Minerve mark for first standard .950 (used after 1838) along with the maker’s mark for PB, Phillippe Berthier, this was his second mark with a woodcock is used from the 5th of June 1847 and stamped again on the 20th of June 1851.
