About This Piece
A silver plate menu card holder, round in form with reeded and cross-banded design on the edges, c. 1940, by James Dixon & Son, Sheffield. Generously sized with good weight. Most likely produced for a branch of the English military. Six are available and sold individually — please indicate the quantity desired at checkout.
James Dixon & Son was originally founded in Sheffield in 1806 and is well known for sporting goods, whistles, and tea sets. The company produced the Hales Trophy (commissioned 1932) and the American Masters Golf Tournament trophy (made in the late 1950s).
