A French sterling silver egg cup and spoon set, beautifully decorated in the guilloché manner and engraved with the crown of a Marquis — a European title of nobility ranking just below a Duke. Both the interior of the egg cup and the bowl of the spoon carry a gilt or vermeil finish. A perfectly elegant way to enjoy one’s breakfast egg.
Hallmarks & Provenance
French sterling silver, .950. Both pieces marked with the Minerva 1st standard mark (in use after 1838). Maker’s punch currently being researched.
