About This Piece
An antique French architectural wood crown fragment, hand-carved and finished in deep red and gilt paint. Closest in form to the crown design of a Marquis, the piece most likely formed part of a larger piece of furniture or a frame. A striking finishing touch for a wall arrangement or table display. The existing paint may be a later addition.

Condition
Very good. A few chips, paint is worn, and several holes where the crown was originally attached to a larger piece. All in accordance with age and use.
